Is Your Home a Sanctuary or Stressor?

Updated: Dec 30, 2021

We'll keep this one short. Ask yourself...Is my home a sanctuary or a stressor? Now more than ever, it's important that your space provides you peace and comfort. That's exactly what a sanctuary is; a place where you feel safe, at peace, and in comfort. With the pandemic continuing to change the way we live life, most people are spending more time in their homes. And let's be honest...you've got enough going on as it is and 2020 has thrown us off enough. The last thing you need is to feel uninspired, unproductive, distracted, and in disarray (a state of disorganization) in your own home. Because your home is an area where you have a good bit of control, push yourself to use that control to create a space that feeds you, not depletes you. It's hard to relax and de-stress in a cluttered space or a space in which you feel overwhelmed. Take care of your space, but most importantly, take care of yourself! And strange as it may seem, you are actually taking care of yourself when you choose to be intentional about the way you take control of and maintain your space. Our atmosphere and surroundings affect us in more ways than we think. Just as we can be particular about the people we choose to surround ourselves with, we should be just as particular about the spaces we allow ourselves to be in. Your mental and emotional health during this time is essential for you to keep being the great YOU that you are! You need a sanctuary to be the best parent, spouse, friend, employee, entrepreneur, [insert all the great things that you are]. Let's make sure the place that should be your sanctuary, hasn't become a stressor! Yes, easier said than done, but remember, organizing is a process. It involves intentional choices and actions. And as always, you don't have to do it alone! Until next time!

Happy organizing!

Ordered space, ordered life!
